I will absolutely never forget the feeling I had on this day 13 years ago. I remember sitting in computer class at JSU when our teacher walked in with a complete dead look on her face saying that the World Trade Towers were hit by terrorist. I had the unknown feeling of what was going to get hit next? Was there another attack to be made? I lived very close to an ammunition plant and was overwhelmed with emotions thinking that it could be hit next. The feeling all over this country is one that I will never forget. We can't ever forget those lives that were taken on that day and it will be a day that we will always remember. Where were you when you got the news of 9-11?
Seoul : Jacoby's Burger
Thursday, September 11, 2014
Whew I've been absent from this place for a while and exactly three months at that. I have no excuse why I haven't blogged but I guess its better late than never. I'll try not to neglect this space.
One thing for sure about living in Korea is that you will absolutely never go hungry. There is a mom and pop restaurant on every square footage it seems and I mean every single foot. It would be completely impossible to eat your way thru this country but I'm definitely going to try.
Today we ventured off base and had lunch at a place called Jacoby's Burger and it was so tasty. When you walk in they give you a menu with a notecard to select the type of meal you want. It's a burger house so of course we went for the Jacoby Burger (H1 to be exact). You select the bread, cheese, meat temp, condiments , sides and then turn your selections in. The waiter will bring your drinks and while you wait you get to enjoy the views of the streets from vendors, bike riders, taxi cabs and those who live in the area. We walked right up to eat without any delays and the service was great.
The decor on the inside was so unique to me as I'm sure Jacoby was someone famous. I'll have to look that up.
I could not resist my burger and the fries were so fresh and delicious and fresh. We couldn't eat them all. I just can't resist a burger with pepper jack cheese on it.
