Tokyo, Japan

Hi Emeralds! I've been away from the blog scene enjoying yet another vacation.   This time we ventured off to Tokyo for Memorial weekend. If you don't know, I graduated high school from Japan so it was so amazing to go back and see all the places that I knew growing up.  These photos were the only ones that I snapped with my 'big camera".  It's so much easier to take photos with my iPhone so if you follow me on Instagram @thechicemerald you get to see the "real-time" photos.   We absolutely enjoyed the trip and I do hope to go back before we leave this side of the world but not until I check some other places off my hit list, lol! Hope you enjoy these photos. Oh, and grab a cup of tea, this post is a long one!
We walked around the Shinjuku Central Park and stumbled across this area where this temple was located. It was definitely a gem to find.

This photo is a bit blurry but the vending machines all over Japan are just amazing to see. This one was right in the park.

After leaving the park, we just walked the streets around Shinjuku close to our hotel.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings were in our direct view from the hotel.  They are definitely a landmark here in the area.
We decided to end the day and headed out to Tokyo Disney Sea.
These photos were just a few snaps on our way to the train station.  I definitely love how they drive on the opposition side of the road as well as the steering wheel on the other side.
I hope you Emeralds have enjoyed this post.  As I've said, I love Japan and can't wait to visit again.  The next stop on my travel journey is Beijing next month. I'm so excited and can't wait to visit the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace and more!

Korea War Memorial Seoul

Tuesday, May 19, 2015

Hey Emeralds! We ventured off this weekend to the Korean War Museum. A place we should've already visited as we pass it almost daily but since we had nothing to do Sunday afternoon after church, Aniyah rode her bike and I walked.  I took my camera along to practice taking some photos.  The lightbulb is slowly going off....
On our stroll to the War Memorial.
